We focus on the development of new coating material or materials systems (such as stacks) as well as develop the necessary optimised deposition processes to bring out the functional properties for various applications.

AME024  |  Novel Column Filling Material for Chromatography

The invention is a novel column filling material which is used within the columns of chromatographic devices. The material provides high porosity and adsorption capacity which can be used for chromatographic analysis of aromatic hydrocarbons, alkaloids, flavonoids and pesticides. The production of the material is both easy and low in cost.

AME070  |  Meeting Stringent Fire Safety Standards with a New Eco-Benign Polymer/Enabler

IPAS (Inorganic Polymer Aqueous Solution) technology presents a sustainable and viable alternative to conventional (compounds based on halogens and phosphorus) Flame Retardant (FR) mechanisms to satisfy stringent International Fire Safety Standards. IPAS provides absolute flame and thermal resistance—incombustibility—by protecting treated materials from coming into contact with oxygen. Whilst IPAS possesses the same level or better anti-flammability and mechanical/physical properties than conventional FR systems, it poses little harm to humans and the environment. IPAS has an easily scalable process, can be made available in various forms for specific industrial needs.

HPC033  |  Smart Hydrogel for Controlled Release Applications

Several smart advanced materials that are used in drug delivery applications, especially in the medical and pharmaceutical industry. A novel pH responsive hydrogel with improved biocompatibility, uniformity in structure for better performance, enhanced swelling properties and gel integrity at both collapsed and swollen states has been invented.  An effective way of synthesizing these materials is also proposed with this technology.
